Foggy Nights – Short Poem No. 47

Foggy nights concealed

the one, only guiding light

in a dark, dark world.

Drift and Sway | Poetry Remix No. 6

“Slowly, slowly drift and sway.
But it never goes away.”

I have no plea, so now, what can I say?

I’ve gotten myself in trouble again.

Because, just like a long reverb, you stay;

every word you say drifts inside my head.

And now I’m in trouble again because

as I drift, you’re the song that’s on repeat;

the sad song of a prisoner of love.

As I drive the street, love won’t hear my plea

to set me free. So now I’m stuck in queue:

Mind and soul have no rest inside of me.

I’m in trouble as I’m captive to you.

Slowly, slowly drift and sway.

But it never goes away.

Sold My Heart – Poetry Remix No. 5

“You took my love, with the greatest of skill and art. As the band played, the gentle music sold my heart.”

The breeze was cool, the night just became dark.
The lights were dim, you laughed at my remark.
The fire burned deep deep inside our hearts.
As we sat there, I told you that we’d never part.
As the band played, the gentle music sold my heart.

Your skin was tanned, glowing by the fire.
While in your hand, I hung by a wire.
And as you spoke, feelings we acquired.
You took my love, with the greatest of skill and art.
As the band played, the gentle music sold my heart.

I Close My Eyes | Short Poem No. 46

“I close my eyes and I hold your hand in mine. Endlessly floating together through time.”

The waves crashing against the darkened stone.

The salty air dries the dew of the night.

The creatures scramble, fending for their own.

Slender palms stretch their hands towards the light.

But then, you and I drift in the picture.

Disregarding all but our affection.

So careless, so enjoying our fixture.

So careless, enjoying imperfection.

Let’s drift away, together, me and you.

Laughs and flirty glares, our hide-a-way cove

Between the azure sky and ocean blue.

There’s the warmth of the sun, and of our love.

I close my eyes and I hold your hand in mine.

Endlessly floating together through time.

Pregnancy Announcement | Short Poem No. 45

The beauty of a pregnancy announcement. . .

This poem is a silhouette of love.

Two embraced in a moment, lost and free.

He gives a kiss as she looks from above.

Because now there’s two, but soon will be three.

Worries of struggle, money, parenting,

are gone now in this beautiful moment.

The mother thinks of a song she can sing,

a lullaby to the life that God’s lent.

Soon, there’ll be a cradle, and newborn cries.

as into this place, with worries it’s own,

an infant’s pushed to their new world to rise –

in the arms of parents making a home.

And devotion will keep them together.

Only a true love can make things better.

Sand on the Beach | Poetry Remix No. 4

Feeling hot sand on the beach.

Ocean breeze runs through my hair.

Your hand settled between mine.

Worries – we forgot to care.

Can moments stretch into eternity

when you stop to look into someone’s eye?

Time always moves on – Sand sifting through hands.

Time always moves on – Moments always die.

Look back and dream of moments,

wishing again for that day.

But, as you dream of the past,

today slowly drifts away.
