Special Things | Poetry Remix No. 9

“Special things don’t happen everyday. Sometimes you make them happen your own way.”

I’m thinking forward and not looking back.
Also not looking around; just forward.
What would we do if tomorrow was lack,
and we’re stuck in the past or just plain bored?

I guessing that you could just call that hope.
Few other things can give you a life-line.
And when you’ve come to the end of your rope,
well, most people find their faith in those times.

Always find something to look forward too.
If you only have the daily mundane,
then your life will fly by you all too soon;
Everyday that you wake will feel the same.

Special things don’t happen everyday.
Sometimes you make them happen your own way.

Friends, I was inspired to write this poem after looking over my own life. It’s easy to get stuck into the daily cycle of going to work and doing all of your normal, everyday tasks. It makes life monotonous. Don’t you ever just want to break out?

“When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer.” Psalm 94:19 NLT

I’d also like to recommend “Hope Within Our Poetry” by Ancient Skies and the original version of this post, “Forward Thinking.
