Letter to My Friends about Anxiety | Short Poem 29

Sometimes, when I write a poem, I get overwhelmed by emotion. This was one of those times. This is a letter to my friends about anxiety.

Dear friends,

I know that you didn’t  mean to hurt me.

You couldn’t see me cracking up inside.

Because we came from different sides of life.

I didn’t have a choice

but to grew up while you could

stay living as a kid.

And I ran away, every day

for no reason.

I was running from myself

but I could never escape.

letter to my friends about anxiety

Dear friends,

it’s been years since you last saw me.

But I think about you time and time again.

It’s funny, when we grow older,

we understand so much more.

Maybe, if I just told you, we would still be friends.

But I ran away, every day

for no reason.

I was running from myself

and I could never escape.

letter to my friends about anxiety

Dear friends,

I didn’t mean to hurt you.

I didn’t know you couldn’t see me cracking up inside.

Maybe, our paths will cross again.

Or maybe out kids can be friends.

And maybe we’ll hang out one time

and it will be like it was back then.

This was a letter to my friends about anxiety.
